Recent projects

Since last post I´ve been really busy working on a couple of different projects. It has been hectic but it feels great. Even though we´re still a small firm we done some major projects and employed some of the latest techniques. Today we release the new slutasnacka.se, a place for everyone that is done with talking about change and now is ready to act! It is a full flash site with a .NET back end. It uses the cairngorm architecture which has been a joy to get to know. I can easily say that it will be used in coming projects as well. Yeah.. another project that we recently released was the full flash site for RPM investments. This site lets the user navigate in multiple ways and also incorporates deep linking, interactive video and flash cookies.
So.. take care until next time! Back to work, just lost 5 minutes :S

SIGNAR: Soon in 3D

I’ve been writing about trying PV3D for a while now and with the start of my new job it’s time. And when you’re starting to look at the available technologies avaliable like APE, WOW, Away3D, Alternativa 3D and of course Papervision that started the whole thing it’s just mindblowing. It feels like I’m seeing a whole new side of the flash community that I havn’t seen before. It is exciting and I feel great. I am no 3D guy so many of the terms used I’m unfamiliar with but I think I’m starting to get a small grip on it. When I have something to show you guys, I will post it, and try to write how I did it. Until then, take care!

New Job!

Yep! Tomorrow it starts, a new job as a Flash / new media developer! Unfortunately this means that I won´t have the time to finish the PaperKing3D project (read below), but hopefully I´ll have some sparetime in the next coming month to realize my ideas. As soon as the new job starts kicking butt I will write a more thourough post explaining everything. Until then, keep coding!

Tag the Internet

Anders from Peacock just announced that they have created a new ingenious way of tagging the web. It´s simply called Tags and is a plugin for Firefox created in Flex. The current version is a beta so feel free to give it a go and report a bug if you stumple upon one. Check out their website and download the plugin!

We’re all Actionscript Heroes!

Pablo Parrado is THE Actionscript Hero, but with the release of his new flash platform site that is some mixture of a blog/forum/site/shop he tries to create a common ground for the flash developers of today.
Pablo states that the goals for ActionScriptHero.org are:

  • Substantially improve the social relations in the Flash Platform Community.

  • Expand our contact to beyond our names, bios and photos.

  • Extend the integration of the Flash Platform Community.

  • Enhance conferences and meetings providing a place where to keep in touch.

  • Achieve our goals as human beings: have fun for instance

  • Deliver a human approach to the Flash Platform Community

Sound like a good plan don´t you think?
Become a member today @ http://www.actionscripthero.org/ and to show it of to all your facebook buddies there are of course a group with the suitable name I´m a ActionScript Hero!

Popforge

Currently I´m working on a flash/flex project where users can create music in real-time. The most challenging parts of this project was to create a smooth playback stream without any chops. After some work I managed to do this in flash through the amazing popforge library by André Michelle and Joa Ebert. Though the current version of popforge won´t work very well on all operative systems out there the coming of Astro (fp 10) will successfully bridge this issue. If you haven´t joined the struggle to make Adobe realize that dynamic audio is the future of flash be sure to do it. Even thought Tinic Oro of the Flash developer team brought us great news about a month ago there is still work to be done to make the Flash player a solid choice for dynamic real time audio manipulation.
